Our Engagement Story

I knew Joseph was going to propose... It was just a matter of when!

I guess the story starts when Joseph and I went to go ring shopping together late March 2019 at David & Son's in La Jolla. I asked the worker when the ring would be done, and he told me in May (which was devastating to me, because that was after our Philippines trip in April!). All hopes of a Philippines proposal was off!

When we got to the Philippines, we stayed with his family for one week in his hometown. On the second week, we began our adventure in Palawan around Puerto Princesa, El Nido, and Coron.

Everything was normal when we visited Puerto Princesa. When we got to El Nido though, I should of known something was fishy when he kept pushing for a private tour on our second day there. We were on Tour A, where we were on course to see the Cadlao Lagoon, Secret Lagoon, Big Lagoon, and Seven Cammando Beach. As you will probably learn about me, I take a lot of my travel photos with my back turned to the camera. So when we got to our stop at the Secret Lagoon, it was no different to me when I turned around to take a photo. But this time when I turned back around, I saw Joseph on one knee where he popped the question: "Will you marry me?". Quite honestly, I was shocked because I didn't think he was going to propose there because the ring was not suppose to done yet!

It was such a great surprise, and I'm so happy to finally be engaged to my high school sweetheart after 13 years!
